Kim Butler Napurrula Paintings

Kim Butler Napurrula - Pintupi artist, paints traditional Women's Ceremonies in her country.

Kim Butler Napurrula creates the stories and traditional ceremonies of her Pintupi homelands located in the desert areas between the settlements of Kiwirkurra and Kintore, along the borders between Western Australia and Northern territory. Her paintings convey the important issues of traditional Aboriginal groups – the maintenance of culture, ceremony and language, and the coherent social management of the group activities. Kim Butler Napurrula comes from a strongly cultural family group of painters, and she continues that tradition with her own artwork.
